To the woods

Forest Families is a parent and toddler forest school and outdoor learning opportunity for children aged 18 months to 4 years and their families, based in the woodland at Appledore Primary School.

We follow the forest school ethos and provide a calm and relaxing place for families to connect with nature, a structured session begins with an introduction around the log circle, moves on to activities and crafts, then back to the log circle for a warm snack and drink and a little time for reflection.

In touch with nature

Each week there are a range of stimulating and sensory activities provided by nature for young children to enjoy and explore. Bug hunts, mud kitchen, wobbly walks, camp fires, making new friends, music, mindfulness, nature walks, mud art, natural crafts and lots more. Come and enjoy the changing seasons and the flora and fauna in this unique outdoor space.

If your child is active and loves playing outdoors, then this is for you! The perfect opportunity for you to get out and discover nature together.
