After-school sessions

At the end of a school day, what could be nicer than to sit around a fire circle with your friends, have a snack and a chat and then choose from a range of interesting woodland activities. An opportunity to let off some steam, take in some fresh air and relax. Sessions offer a wide range of activities including bug hunting, pond dipping, woodworking, the use of traditional green woodworking tools, weaving, whittling, climbing, fire-lighting, outdoor cooking, den building, mud kitchen and mud slide, storytelling, music, woodland theatre, clay crafts, wild art, gardening, 'archaeology' and much more.

Time to explore

Through rain, sun and snow, and on into the dark during the short winter days, there is always a new challenge to try and fun to be had. The ethos of forest school is to offer self-discovery, independence, creativity and sense of achievement through hands-on activities. We encourage children to respect each other, themselves and nature, to work as a team when required but also to feel free to follow individual lines of enquiry, risk or exploration, within a stimulating, safe and supportive environment. Our relaxed, non-competitive, non-judgemental culture offers the opportunity to try new things, learn from mistakes, experiment and problem solve, without pressure.
